Street Corner Dance is committed to connecting Perth dancers with authentic voices from Hip Hop culture.
Throughout the year, we host international Hip Hop workshops featuring respected dancers, pioneers and educators from around the world.
These workshops provide a unique opportunity to learn directly from artists who have helped shape Hip Hop dance internationally.

Hip Hop was born from community, sharing and cultural exchange.
Learning from dancers who have lived, contributed to and helped develop the culture gives students a deeper understanding than simply learning moves.
Our workshops help bridge the gap between Perth and the wider global Hip Hop community.
Loose Joint (USA)
Jamel "Loose Joint" Brown is a founding member of Elite Force Crew and one of the most respected figures in Hip Hop dance.
His career spans more than four decades and includes performances and choreography for artists such as Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Jay-Z and Will Smith.
Known for his signature style blending electric boogie, popping, waving, tutting, ticking, gliding, Hip Hop party dances, flexibility, acrobatics, and kung fu influences, he earned the nickname “Loose Joint” in the early 1990s. While part of Moptop, he co-founded Elite Force Crew alongside Buddha Stretch and Link during the filming of Michael Jackson’s “Remember The Time” music video.
Loose Joint is a legendary figure in the Hip Hop freestyle community and we had the privilege to host Loose Joint in 2024 and 2025.

oSaam (Japan)
A standout figure in the Japanese Hip Hop scene, oSaam is recognised for his unique groove, creativity, and ability to blend classic Hip Hop foundations with his own personal expression. His dancing reflects a strong understanding of the culture, music, and freestyle spirit that define Hip Hop.
He's been an International Judge in numerous competitions and battles including 2024 Summer Dance Forever Hip-Hop or 2023 Battle Bad Paris.
Dance@Live Champion 5 times/Forever Hip Hop Japan Champion 4 times.
His style is often described as a "smoky texture imbued with high quality", a signature groove that captivates audiences and judges alike.
Those who have experienced oSaam's classes know that his mastery of Hip-Hop foundations and groove is second to none. A true teacher at heart, oSaam's teaching connects dancers of all levels, from those just starting out to experienced dancers seeking refinement.
